The Corsair Virtuoso is the latest headset that has been released from corsair. This is a high-performance headset aimed at gaming for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox with a very high-quality audio output. This is one of the much higher price headsets on offer from Corsair but this is with good reason as we will talk about below!
This headset offers numerous connectivity options, you have wireless of up to 60ft of range due to its USB receiver, which uses intelligent frequency shift (IFS) to ensure a strong signal. There is the option of wired via a 3.5mm jack plug which will allow you to connect to a variety of devices as long as it has the 3.5 mm port such as audio players, consoles, and mobile phones. The last option that you have is wired by USB which allows you to connect to devices with a USB port.
Design and Comfort
Being machined by aluminum means the Virtuoso has the perfect balance of being very durable, with a lightweight design for maximum comfort which gives it a very professional finish. The earpads are made from memory with a leather-look finish which means when you put them on the mold to your head to make them as comfortable as possible, which is the same for the headband. There is also a broadcast-grade detachable microphone that gives the most natural sound quality to your friends and team players.
There is a reason for the high price! The spec list is quite large. To start off they have a smart sleep and wake system, which means they detect when you put them down so they will power down and when you pick them up again they will turn on, which is very good for preserving the battery life. When linked up with a PC they have incredible sound quality as they come with 7.1 surround sound to put you into the middle of all the action. Along with this you also have RGB lights installed in each ear cup which gives you the ability to change the colours to whatever you want and give you the ability to match the colour scheme of your PC. Being the more expensive SE version they have a couple of extra features, first off the ear cup is made of aluminum which is the same as the frame, along with the microphone head and connector. The last point I am going to talk about is the mic itself, as the SE option has a 9.5mm broadcast-grade which gives greater performance and increased sensitivity. Just to finish it off the SE comes with its own pouch to protect it if needs be.
When it comes to the life of the headset there is a custom high-capacity lithium-ion battery that can offer up to 20 hours of listening time while gaming. Or as an alternative, you can have it plugged in for permanent power.
In my opinion, owning these for a couple of months now, they are an incredible headset. First off you have the look, they are very pleasing to the eye as they have a very nice finish of metal with the RGB lighting on each side. They are the most comfortable headset I have used, I can use them for many hours not having to take them off to discomfort. The battery is very impressive, I can go a couple of days without having to charge it, while only using it for some hours each evening. When it comes to the sound while gaming it does give you the upper hand, you have a very crisp and clear sound so you can hear footsteps or explosions in the distance or gun firing meaning you can figure out where it is coming from. Overall it is an incredible headset yes it does have a very expensive price tag but it does have a lot of positives to make it worthwhile. I would happily recommend it to anyone who enjoys gaming or watching videos due to the high quality of audio.
